peter pan cookies

peter pan

Got this recipe from a friend I met in summer school. They look crispy but they are actually crispy on the edges and soft in the middle.

the new bento

Thai style beef rolls

I feel like I have waited forever to actually use this bento box, but I can't really complain about the long weekend ~_^ I'm so excited about using it that I have the next couple meals planned out, even though I can't use it again till Monday. Anyway, today we have the thai-style beef rolls, no sauce. (Click here for the recipe.) Plus organic green grapes, fuji apple slices and peanut butter.

Lunches for tomorrow )

I've decided I don't care if it looks redundant. I'm still cooking, packing lunch and saving money. ^_^

But actually, I think it's only getting repetitive because my paychecks have been short lately, so I haven't had money to buy new or different ingredients. Hopefully next payday (but I doubt it)...

Soba and fruits

Just a quick snack for school today. It's really the only reason I'm going. That and to show off the new bag my boyfriend surprised me with ^_^

frog style hot sesame noodles

Sesame noodles, Frog Style!

I'm a little paranoid about staining my bento boxes (not sure why) -- hence the Press'n Seal. I actually thought the sauce would be red because Frank’s RedHot is red, but the peanut-butter-baby-poop color overpowered that.

I forgot to garnish with the green onions, but it was still tasty, if not as pretty ~_^ Also, the recipe didn't include meat, so I just fried some shrimp and tossed them on top.

My alterations: I used spearmint tea instead of fresh mint and left the skin on the cucumber.

like 3xS but no apples

Leftover soba and strawberries

More soba and strawberries sitting in pastry cups filled with the peanutty chocolate spread and topped with chocolate sauce. Everything except the pastries are leftovers from my Wednesday bento, so that's where the recipes are.

I wanted to do this since I haven't made a bento for lunch in a while. Boo on that.

3xS and some fruits

Smoked salmon soba, strawberries and fuji apple slices. I forgot to include the salad dressing bottle filled with balsamic vinegar in the picture. In the carrot spreaders is peanutty chocolate spread, recipe below.

I made a bento for him (looks just like mine, but without the carrots) and put the marble cake he brought home for me in my penguin mini bento.

For the peanut spread, I did not use the plain yogurt because I could not find plain soy yogurt and I can't eat regular yogurt. It still tastes good; I imagine it's just not the same consistency as the recipe.
