mexican cod and mushroom fries

mexican baked cod

portobello mushroom fries

This dish was just okay, and I don't think it will do too well for leftovers. I think it would be better with chicken, though I doubt I will make the recipe again. I wasn't in a measuring mood tonight, so I didn't measure anything on either of these recipes.

I don't think I posted the recipe last time I made these portobello mushroom fries, so I posted it below.

Notes:
I made things difficult for myself by buying precut mushrooms. Because they were cut, scraping the gills off the undersides of the caps was difficult without breaking them. I also didn't do the grilling step so I had to leave them on the fry pan for longer; that didn't really work out because they got too dark before they were done. I'm surprised I tried this recipe again since it gave me a hard time last time, but they are pretty tasty, even if I can't seem to get them just right.

I got a call...

Quick burger and Portobello mushroom fries

This was a quick dinner I threw together at the last minute. That's why it's not very attractive T_T

Anyway, we have a makeshift burger with McCormick Spicy Steak Seasoning (this stuff makes everything good) and garlic, and Portobello Mushroom Fries by Rachael Ray at The Food Network.

I didn't exactly follow the recipe since I was in a hurry and two mushrooms short of the recipe. Plus, I baked them in the oven instead of grilling them. Oh well, it was still good. My boyfriend said they were pretty good, for mushrooms (he doesn't like mushrooms). Next time I will follow the recipe more closely; I'm sure they'll turn out great ^_^
