my first card

Neither of these pictures are really sharp, but you get the idea even if they're not really focussed, and no natural light is left in the day.

Anyway, this is for a coworker who let me go home early from the event from hell. The yellow bucket has gummy worms in it; she likes gummy bears, but I figured gummy worms worked better with the card. I was going to put a yellow bait bucket in the card to match the actual bucket I was giving her, but I changed my mind after putting the bucket in there. I didn't like how it looked, so I left the inside simple. The string on the fishing rod is loose, so the hook flies around willy-nilly. ^_^

been busy

I cooked yesterday but I forgot to take a picture cause I was so hungry. Also, I have been sewing a lot lately, and it's been great.

Anyway, I made this apron for my boyfriend's dad:

Then, I put the apron in a gift basket for his dad in a terracotta pot...

My brother bought roman shades for his room, so he gave me the fabric he had been using to cover his windows. I have been planning on making curtains out of them for the longest time, but for whatever reason, I put it off until this weekend.

They're kinda difficult to see, but they're brown corduroy and match my bed skirt perfectly. Now the sun won't be shining in my face in the morning, and I won't be paranoid that someone is watching me at night.

naught to do with holidays

I made a gift basket for one of my former employers. I'm going to have my sister make a thank-you card for me, since I can't find one I really like for the occasion. It's really just to show my appreciation for the experience and foundation they provided.

I don't really like the way it looks in the plastic, but I think it's more portable that way.
